Luncheon in the Studio
I am proud to say that I personally know, Sarah of Sarah Gentry Art. She is the little sister of my bestest friend since childhood, Martha. We grew up down the block from each other and have spent many happy times on family trips, sleepovers, parties, playing tennis, snow days working puzzles, Camp Fire Girl campouts and lazy summer days just hanging. Our mothers are bestest friends, too. Genie and Jane. They are always cooking up something fun or getting into the craziest situations. Like the time in the 80’s when they chased a would-be robber who was so shocked that he ran and jumped in a car and sped off, only to be chased by Genie and Jane all over Fort Worth’s Near Southside. They never did catch him, though, because Genie refused to jump the curb in her brand new Cadillac, to Jane’s great disappointment.
But, I digress. Several years back, we started having a Christmas Lunch with the five of us -Martha, Sarah, Genie, Jane and me. Us young ‘uns take turns hosting at our houses. Genie and Jane have over done their fair share of treating us when we were growing up.
The latest luncheon was such a special treat because of the venue. It was in Sarah’s home studio. If you are not familiar with her art, you must pause right now and check out SarahGentryArt.com. Her creativity and eye for color will make you instantly happier, if not outright giddy. But be sure and come back here to see a behind the scenes look at where all the magic happens.
Do you have a creative corner or studio? Rethink it. What unusual place could you host a party in your home? We would all love to see your ideas in the comments.
